It does seem to be more virulent in that country for undisclosed or unknown reasons. Bad news indeed. However, it helps governments to have a fearful population; they can be less trouble that way. Sounds like your government is in panic mode but it might just be reasonable precautions.

I will stick to basic hygiene and hope for the best, as usual. If one's number is up then that's just tough.

That said, I am off to the USA on 10 May ...
"ALL" social events are closed and to be avoided in mexico city, people are asked to not go to work if sick and to rush to the hospital immediately. Also they announced it worldwide, the U.S and other close to mexico Countries are taking action on the matter. People near mexico ( and in mexico) are taking precautions by putting on "breathing masks". We are all afraid, that this will spread or Mutate Once again, if it were to reach the united states, the whole world could be at stake the next day, due to the United sates massive tourism and traveling. Being so close to mexico and Being the center of the world at a moment like this. It all depends on the United States actions in unison with mexico.

In response to:Epidemy in Mexico (very interesting take a look)

lol for looking like the chinese... i am one anyway...

Romania has also been invaded several times. The latest invasion was in 1949, by Russia or the Soviet Union, who has has taken an entire piece of our country. That piece has remained independent from Romania even after the disipation of the Soviet Union and is now called Moldavia (maybe you have heard of this country). Other invasions were done by the Turks and Hungarians, but this is in the older history. I guess many countries have suffered various invavasions, but some people enjoy life more and others less. And you are among the "party people", which is very good.

Bye bye and continue being happy!
I'm going to explain you why we celabre it with that enthusiasm; it may be cause we have been invaded not once or twice we have been invaded several times(French, Spanish, Americans...) what makes our independece such an spetial day, cause it was the day when we porphine rest of everything, but anyway it makes us even more spetial, the knowing that we fight with all our might and we won, and anyway it is part od Mexico's history and those events make it even more interesting, but anyway Romania is lucky(and also you lol) of not suffering an invasion or at least no more than 3.

in what regards the comment of chrisistoofat, i think i can understand his sadness. maybe this is the fatalism of great nations: first they invade smaller ones and suffocate them with their values, but then the small ones start to suffocate them at their turn ...
Knew nothing of that really. The UK has never actually suffered a period of occupation. Not since the year 1066 anyway. I feel however, if we were to try to celebrate a 'UK Day' here it would be banned for fear of upsetting some minority or other. Celebrate away - and be glad that you are still able to do so.
